Newsletter Format

Our daily newsletters follow the same format every day. One city, one theme, and five things to do.

There is no limit to where in the world those cities are located, and the newsletter theme may encompass only a sub-portion of a city. Each newsletter begins with an overview paragraph about the city and the theme. Each of the five suggested activities follow with a paragraph of their own.

Each paragraph is about 50 (ish) words. The entire newsletter should be about 300 words, but never more than 500 words. Photos and/or images are strongly encouraged.

Becoming a Glitter Guru

We're looking for fun writers with that are passionate about the places they've visited. If you know of a place that should be featured at Travel Glitter, drop us a line. Previous travel writing is not required; in fact we prefer exuberance over experience.

The Query

In your initial query letter be sure to include a brief overview about yourself, including any past writing experience (if you don't have writing experience, it's okay to say so.) Include the city and theme you are interested in writing about, as well as the opening paragraph of your story.

Feel free to include links to work posted online, but please don't send attachments. We won't open them anyway, and we'll probably just think you aren't able to follow directions if you do attach a file. If we want further info, we will ask for it.

The Submission

Once your query has been accepted, here are a few suggestions to help expedite your submission process.

* Destination Photos (yours or ones from the local DMO)
* Your picture
* Your bio (50 words)
* Where you live
* A *brief* blurb on your dream vacation

The Pay

We pay $10 per adventure.

Rights

Travel Glitter has the right to slightly edit the work for spelling, grammar and to match the style of the website. We also have the right post the article on our site for the lifetime of the site. The writer retains all other rights.
