Last week dozens of Broughton Hotels’ employees, including Founder & CEO Larry Broughton, traveled to the Sportsmen’s Lodge Hotel in Studio City (Los Angeles) and the Inn at East Beach in Santa Barbara to take part in a company-wide philanthropic event to prepare and donate 4,500 sack lunches to various charities in the regions.
Beginning at 11 a.m., employees at both properties created an assembly line of sandwich construction that resulted in the team exceeding past their original goal of 4,500 sack lunches with 4,693 lunches made.
Among those who received the fruits of Broughton Hotels’ labor were Los Angeles-based Dream Center, and Santa Barbara charities New House III, Casa Serena, Doctors Without Walls, Casa Esperanza, Transition House, Santa Barbara Rescue Mission and the Santa Barbara Boys and Girls Club.
“It’s really quite simple, there’s no higher calling than serving others,” said Larry Broughton, “I’m blessed to be surrounded by team members who regularly commit to lending their hearts and hands to acts of service.”
