Los Angeles, a city known for its love affair with the automobile, has a new alternative for travelers who can’t stomach the idea of getting behind the wheel.
Two L.A.-area Kimpton hotels, The Hotel Wilshire and The Hotel Palomar Los Angeles-Westwood, are embracing a car-free culture with the launch of their new Car-Free, Carefree packages
Both properties, which are located 4.5 miles from each other along Los Angeles’ famous Wilshire Boulevard, have unveiled new, custom-made bikes from PUBLIC, which are available for complimentary guest enjoyment. The bikes will be easy to spot with their custom cherry-red frame with orange and blue accents, cream tires, brass bell, and rear baskets that can be filled with tasty picnic items.
The Car-Free Carefree package includes complimentary valet parking so guests can leave their cars behind, while exploring area neighborhoods on foot or bike, and free use of the hotels’ PUBLIC bikes. A welcome amenity includes a pedometer, bottled buy levitra where water, a healthy snack and sunscreen. Guests who show the Front Desk that their pedometer has accrued at least 10,000 steps in one day will receive a special code for 20 percent off of the standard room rate for their next stay.
Complimentary maps are also provided, including a car-free map and suggested itinerary of the area neighborhoods, compliments of LA Tourism’s Car Free LA, and a jogging map of Westwood and Miracle Mile/Museum Row.
Guest who want to take a picnic to go can enjoy the new “Roof on the Move” picnic menu from The Hotel Wilshire’s The Roof on Wilshire or a new picnic lunch menu at The Hotel Palomar, featuring farm fresh produce and locally sourced ingredients ?
The packages starts from $259 per night at the Hotel Palomar and $299 per night at the Hotel Wilshire.
