In what just might be a travel industry first, Minneapolis-based The Commons Hotel has launched a math-inspired overnight package.
In particular the hotel, which celebrates its self-proclaimed geek chic persona, is honoring Stanford mathematics professor Maryam Mirzakhani, who recently became the first woman to ever receive the prestigious Fields Medal for mathematics.
The An=M² package encourages travelers to embrace their inner-geek with science-type elements including overnight accommodations, two tickets to the new “Math Moves” exhibit at the Science Museum of Minnesota, in-room welcome amenities-–including the current issue of Popular Science–and breakfast for two at The Beacon Public House.
Conveniently located close to downtown Minneapolis on the University of Minnesota campus, The Commons Hotel has received its own share of awards, including a designation as one of the “Hippest Hotels” by Yahoo! Travel and winning the Fodor’s 100 Hotel Award.
Inspired by its collegiate ties to the university, the property also celebrates the industrial history of the Twin Cities. The 304-room hotel aciphex online pharmacy designs its guest experiences around literary, art and science themes, with activities including beakers of local brew, alchemist mixology lessons at The Beacon Public House, Sudoku Sleep-Ins, and complimentary in-room book deliveries from the resident Book Butler.
The Commons Hotel is located across from the East Bank station, providing guests with direct transportation to downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, the Mall of America, Target Field and the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport via Metro Transit’s new Green Line Light Rail Train.
The Commons Hotel is a member of Noble House Hotels & Resorts, a portfolio of 18 distinct and visually captivating properties, which features a philosophy that emphasizes “location, distinction and soul.” Furthermore, the brand celebrates individuality and dedicates itself to creating and managing exceptional properties that contribute to their communities, while staying true to local history, culture and ambiance.
The Au=M² Package starts at $226 per night and is available through Dec. 30, 2014.
