Paje Beach, located on Zanzibar’s east coast, offers the quintessential beach experience, white sand alongside the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. The site’s calm, shallow waters and year-round winds attract kite surfers from all over the world, including Andre Niznik, who is opening a new resort here on June 1, 2014.

The new resort, White Sand Luxury Villas & Spa comes complete with its own high-end kite surf club, Zanzibar Kite Paradise, which provides education and high-end equipment as well as a team of highly trained kite surfers. Guests interested in kite surfing can take classes from certified instructors, while more experienced riders can rent equipment. The resort features eleven all-white villas, tucked into the island’s lush landscape, each sporting sea views, a private terrace and a private pool. The villas, which range from one to five bedrooms, are equipped with Wi-Fi, hanging beds, air conditioning, outdoor bathtubs and rain showers.

Other guest activities include a rooftop lounge, happy hour by the swimming pool and a lavish spa located in a tropical garden, complete with its own waterfall.

Zanzibar White Sand Luxury Villas & Spa was built with the goal of helping to preserving the environment. The resort is powered by wind and solar energy, has its own water source and desalination plant, and each villa is equipped with a solar water heating system. For the dining areas, fresh, organic fruits and vegetables are grown in the resort’s own garden.
