The San Diego affiliate Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure – known for its signature pink ribbons – has teamed up with the iconic “Pink Lady,” the La Valencia Hotel, known to provide guests and visitors a number of ways to commemorate National Breast Cancer Awareness Month throughout October, and the San Diego Race for the Cure event on Nov. 4.
Throughout the month of October, La Valencia’s tower will be adorned with a giant pink ribbon to honor the worthy cause of breast cancer awareness and research for a cure. Guests can also help support breast cancer awareness in the following ways:
Sleep In For the Cure
While walking in the “Race for the Cure” is a noble cause, guests who wish to contribute at a more sedate level, can “Sleep in for the Cure.” La Valencia is the first hotel in San Diego County to participate in this promotion, where 15 percent of all package revenues are donated to the foundation.
The package includes:

- Complimentary valet parking
- Room service breakfast for two with a special “Do Not Disturb, I’m Sleeping in for the Cure” door knob hanger
- A bottle of sparkling pink champagne
The “Sleep in for the Cure” room package starts at $450 and is valid from October 1 thru November 30, 2013.
Signature Pink Cocktails
La V’s mixologists have created an updated buy levitra safely online version of the classic “Pink Lady” cocktail which will offered at the hotel’s bars and restaurants, with 15 percent of all proceeds going to the charity.
3-Day Cheer Station
On Friday, November 15th – during this year’s Susan G. Komen national, 3-Day Walk/Run — one section of the 3-day route passes just one block from the hotel. La Valencia will set up a “Cheer Station,” where hotel employees will pass out pink goodies to the 4,000 walkers who pass by.
Facebook followers can also enter to win a free stay at La Valencia, by participating in a two-week Facebook game that will ask user-friendly questions about the history of La Jolla, La Valencia and Susan G. Komen for the Cure, San Diego. One lucky participant will win a weekend in one of La V’s Villa Suites, dinner for two and a bottle of pink Rose.
