Solmar Hotels over the counter nexium & Resorts, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, is inviting guests to participate in “acts of voluntourism” while staying at any of its properties.
Each Wednesday & Thursday the Solmar Foundation provides guests with the opportunity to take a “Helping Hands” tour to three of the organizations supported by the foundation: an orphanage, a senior center and shelter.
Guests can also donate to the foundation’s community campaign by purchasing ambassador bracelets for $3 USD. All proceeds from the bracelets are donated back to the charities supported by the foundation. Guests are also encouraged to bring supplies, clothing and other items with them to donate to those in need – recently guests have provided suitcases full of clothing, toothbrushes and other necessities.
Solmar Hotels & Resorts created its Solmar Foundation in 2011, to support the community in and around Los Cabos through various initiatives and the involvement of guests from the Solmar properties.
Recently, the Solmar Foundation hired a professional therapist to provide twenty disabled children in need with therapy. Additionally, the foundation purchased a horse – El Pescadito (the little fish) – to provide equine therapy to sixty disabled children.
The Solmar Foundation also helps make college possible for twenty outstanding students in Los Cabos by providing full college scholarships.
The foundation recently became part of the Make-a-Wish program, helping to grant one wish per month to a child suffering from cancer.
Solmar Hotels & Resorts operates five properties in Los Cabos, including Grand Solmar Land’s End Resort, Playa Grande,
Quinta del Sol, The Ridge, and The Solmar Resort.
