The Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center, the tallest hotel in the United States, and one of the tallest in the western hemisphere, is located along downtown Detroit’s scenic riverfront overlooking both the city of Detroit and the city of Windsor, located in Ontario, Canada.
The property has recently announced it intends to undergo a massive $30 million renovation project, to begin in February 2014. The 70-floor hotel intends to remain open throughout the year-long project, with just a few floors undergoing reconstruction at a time.

The Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center is located on the riverfront in the heart of downtown Detroit. The hotel’s 1,379 guest rooms offer some of the most spectacular views in all of Detroit, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city skyline, the Detroit River and Canada. The property has 100,000 square feet of flexible meeting space to accommodate up to 2,200 guests. The hotel is located within the General Motors Renaissance Center complex, 25 minutes from Detroit Metro Airport and five minutes from Windsor, Ontario.
