Grab yer doubloons matey, and set sail to Ventura Harbor Village, where the 9th Annual Pirate Days Festival unfolds on July 19 & 20. One of Ventura’s most popular festivals, this year’s Ventura Harbor Pirate Days is themed “Hook, Jack, and Tinker.”
Making her first appearance this year, Tinker Bell will be on hand to greet fans of all ages. Also new this year is a Pirate Wedding, a Lunch with the Pirates, the Reece Ryan Kids’ On-Land Pirate Ship, and a #PirateSelfie Instagram contest.
Ventura Harbor Pirate Days Festival Events
Festival goers will meet enchanting mermaids and famous pirate re-enactors, including Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Hook. At the Pirate Marketplace, attendees can visit the Port Royal Privateers’ historical encampment or shop at unique vendor booths selling such items as woodcrafts, pirate attire, jewelry, handcrafted glass and metal gifts, and nautical-themed loot.
Children, tweens and adults should dress to impress, and can strut their stuff in a daily costume contest for a chance to win tickets to Six Flags Magic Mountain, Hurricane Harbor, Knott’s Berry Farm, or Legoland. Even four-legged family members can dress for the occasion and a pirate pet contest will produced a winning entrant with a gift basket filled with pet goodies.
A Mermaid Treasure Hunt is set up for the youngest family members, and a live music line up includes Ship of Fools, The Pirate Charles, and Pirates for Hire. Local shops sell pirate merchandise, pirate hats, swords, gifts, eye patches, flags, & gear, and Village restaurants are serving food specials all day long.
